I first imagined the Firelight Theater as I was laying down to bed - the image of a campfire, the light reflecting on a wall of stone - the shadows of those by the fire appearing like giants behind them.

I remembered campfires from my past - the songs, the ghost stories, the skits, the feeling of being out in nature, with the stars overhead, the forest all around, and the magical flickering of the flames.

My idea was to give people a place where they could go to experience that same sense of wonder using what I know best - theater.

I imagined that place, with the light of the fire flickering across the faces of actors recreating the great stories - of heroes, of gods, of monsters - myths, legends, folk tales, ghost stories, all as if they might have originally been told. Without the use of modern technology, it would simply be the audience, the storytellers, and the stories.

I picture this as a place that multiple generations could enjoy - timeless, like the legends themselves.

I've never seen anything quite like this before, and would love to be able to bring the idea to life.
